Relative Clauses

RELATIVE CLAUSES

Defining and Non-defining

What is a relative clause?

Relative clause is a word that can be a noun, adjetive or pronoun. They´re used to identify what person or  thing we are talking about.

With relative clauses we can say extra information, adding new data to the phrase.

What is a Defining clause?

When I give only need information and don´t use commas in the sentences, I´m providing dates as an identifying clause that can be called restrictive clause too.

What is a Non-defining clause?

When I give extra information about a place, a thing or a person I am using Non-defining clauses. In context, I give information that people don´t need to know at this moment but I do.

MISTER BEAN DRIVING ON ROOF OF A CAR

In the video Mr. Bean was trying to drive his minicooper and for this he had
sat on a big chair tied on the roof of the car. Before to start the engine,
I saw he had prepared clutch and brake and had taked a mop and a rope
to drive the car from the ceiling. At a time he was going down the hill and he
had planned everything but obviously not well; in the end he crashed against
another car, a moving truck that had been parked on the street with open door.
